Reaching our offshore energy targets is an opportunity to reconcile nature with offshore wind farms and grid developments was the core message at the “Strong Winds, Thriving Seas” conference. DMEC showcased how the EU-SCORES project is doing this by making smarter use of both the offshore space and grid infrastructure. The project contributed to a solutions-oriented conference, organised by Renewables Grid Initiative, WindEurope and the Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature (OCEaN) by providing evidence on how can offshore wind be integrated with offshore solar and wave energy.
As part of the Conference, OCEaN published a statement to ensure that the new Commission will bring us closer to achieving climate, energy and biodiversity objectives hand in hand.
